The wonderful world of art is a hobby and passion I discovered five years ago and in my quest to find like-minded people I joined the Tauranga Society of Artists. This was a decision I am glad I made. Each week I meet with my artist friends at our Wednesday afternoon Open Studio session. This is a day I look forward to, as I have learnt so much from several very experienced artists who have always been willing to help and encourage me.

I enjoy painting with acrylics on canvas. I have recently been on a wonderful holiday to Europe and am now inspired to paint all the lovely old doors, archways and alleyways I saw in the little villages scattered along the coastlines.

I like meeting up with my fellow art friends, who are also Society members, at Art in the Park where I have successfully sold paintings. Participating in our annual art exhibitions has given me the opportunity to sell my paintings to local and overseas visitors. This has definitely opened up a new and exciting door for me.
