Marie Brown

After many years of dabbling in various crafts I was encouraged to try painting about five years ago and now art has become a life long passion.

I joined the Tauranga Society of Artists in 2007 and really enjoy the fellowship, support and encouragement of fellow art lovers as well as the opportunity to learn in group sessions or take part in workshops.

I have held the position of Treasurer for the last three years which has been a great way to get to know many of the members and to make a lot of new friends.

I work with acrylics in a realist style, painting mostly landscapes and I particularly love the detail in old buildings. As a balance to this I enjoy the freedom of expression that working with mixed media brings and like to experiment with a variety of different textures and techniques. I have successfully shown and sold work in many local exhibitions.
