Displays at the 2010 Annual Exhibition
Report on 2010 Exhibition
The Annual Exhibition was opened by one of our Patrons, Mrs Mary Dillon on Thursday 17 June 2010 with a large number of invited guests and artists attending.
The Supreme Annual Art Award this year was judged by the well known and experienced artist Richard Smith who commented that it had been very difficult to choose from at least twelve paintings he liked particularly. The recipient of the Award this year is Debbie Emslie , our runner-up in 2009. Debbie's beautiful watercolour painting was entitled “Low Tide at Pahoia”. Richard commented that her treatment of the water was extremely well executed and the colours were very harmonious. Congratulations to Debbie for winning the Supreme Annual Art Award for 2010.
The runner-up for the Supreme Art Award was Lynn Watts who's painting “Not a Still Life!” was very lively and entertaining. A really fun perspective and the treatment of this painting vastly different from the winning painting. Congratulations Lynn .
This year the exhibition ran over three days – Friday 18th to Sunday 20 June and was very successful with 64 artists exhibiting 157 works of art. Many comments were received on the extremely high standard of art exhibited and the professional and pleasing way the exhibition had been presented.
