Cath Mills

Being the daughter and Granddaughter of artist's I guess I was destined to pick a brush sooner or later. So a career in Pharmacy and 2 children later I attended a night school taken by a well known local artist and that was it I was hooked. Five years and many art workshops later I paint mainly in acrylic paints and love the depth of colour and flexibility this medium offers. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects from landscape to abstract and mixed media pieces with a passion for modern colours and texture in my work. I have sold works to both New Zealand and overseas buyers and recently won a Taupo Art competition with one of my latest paintings.

I have successfully exhibited in many local exhibitions including the Bethlehem College Exhibition for last 2 years and again this year, Tauranga Society of Artists Exhibitions, Combined Bay Arts for the last 2 years and this year I am exhibiting with my mother Annette Bishop and sister in The Great Coromandel Arts Tour in May.

I joined the Tauranga Society of Artists about 3 years ago and really enjoy the company of the many fabulous artists in the society. I regularly attend Art in the Park at Mt Maunganui and enjoy the great opportunity to sell my work and catch up with fellow artists.
