Anne Jensen

Arts and crafts have been a life-long passion for me, and some of these I have taught as well.

Painting became my real interest and my first attempt was fabric painting.

During this period I sold cushions, curtains, tableware and nursery ware to outlets in Temuka, Taupo and Tauranga. As there was a limited market for fabric painting I took up canvas art, attempting water-colour, acrylic, mixed media and pen and wash. Water-colours I found frustrating and the acrylic medium was more to my liking. My style is inclined to be stylistic which lends itself to bold and bright colours, which I love.

Joining the Tauranga Society of Artists many years ago was a turning point as workshops and critique sessions along with much helpful advice and the support of the members has been very encouraging and keeps one motivated.

Participating in the annual Tauranga Society exhibitions at Baycourt and the Seasonal Exhibition for the last few years, has proved satisfying and I have had success.
